How it works

Three quiet steps.

  1. 01

    Drop your files

Drag images into the converter or pick them from your device. Any number, any size.

  2. 02

    Choose a format

Pick a target format, adjust quality, resize if needed. Keep the aspect ratio locked.

  3. 03

    Convert & download

Everything happens locally. Download images individually or as a ZIP.

Privacy

Your files never leave the browser.

FormatFlip has no server. Images are decoded by your browser, redrawn on a local canvas, and re-encoded into the format you chose — all in memory. We can't see them because nothing is sent anywhere.

  • No uploads. Not even for analytics.
  • No account, no email, no cookies.
  • Works offline once the page is loaded.
  • Close the tab and every trace is gone.

FAQ

Good to know.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?+

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Files never touch a server.

Which formats are supported?+

PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF, BMP and GIF as output. Any image your browser can decode works as input.

Why is AVIF sometimes disabled?+

AVIF encoding depends on the browser. FormatFlip detects support automatically and hides the option when it isn't available.

Is there a file size limit?+

Only your device's memory. Very large images may take a moment to decode and redraw.

Does resizing keep quality?+

We use the browser's high-quality image smoothing when resizing. For photographic content, WebP or AVIF give the best size-to-quality ratio.

Can I convert GIFs while keeping animation?+

FormatFlip converts the first frame — Canvas doesn't preserve animation. For animated output, use a specialised encoder.
